If you are looking for bed and breakfast or lodgings in Edinburgh then you are bound to find something that is within your budget. The city is home to a wide range of lodging houses and B&BS and most of them offer really good value for money when it comes to staying in Edinburgh. Most B&BS are small, family or owner run businesses that often have only a few rooms on offer. One of the benefits of choosing a guest house or B&B is that the owners can get quite chatty which means that you get a lot of useful information pertaining to the area.

You will find some fine examples of Victorian and Georgian architecture when you are searching for suitable bed and breakfast accommodation. Accommodation with stunning architectural features is usually found in the new part of the city, but there are still some wonderful looking buildings in the old town as well. Some of the B&B accommodation and guest houses are tucked away in the winding streets and alleys of the old town.

When you choose a B&B or guesthouse over one of the more salubrious hotels in the city you really can save a significant amount of money. Rates for accommodation can vary quite widely and it is worth your time to undertake some research before you settle on a particular establishment. If you choose the Averon Edinburgh Bed and Breakfast, rates start as low as £26 a night, depending on whether you choose a single, twin, double or family room or suite. The B&B offers onsite parking for its guests, room service is available and all rooms are ensuite with tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which is pretty reasonable.

The Tantalion B&B is an attractive Victorian house that is just a walk across the meadow to Edinburgh’s Royal Mail and offers secure parking and double rooms from £54 a night all rooms are ensuite with televisions and breakfast is included in the price of the room.

Violet Bank House B&B is located in the Pentlands Park within the city of Edinburgh overlooking the water of Leith. Double rooms and twin rooms are available all with ensuite facilities, television and room service. The rooms have wireless internet facilities and desks and are furnished in antique and repro style. Breakfast is included and onsite parking is available. Violet Bank House has an AA award and plenty of repeat business even with rooms starting at £80 a night so you will need to check for availability quite a while before you visit.

Edinburgh is a fascinating city and its richness and history are reflected in much of the accommodation, especially some of the more famous hotels and the Bed and Breakfast accommodation. There is so much to see and experience in Edinburgh that it really should be a goal for anyone interested in the history of different parts of this country that has long been a part of the United Kingdom.
